HIGH DESERT FIDDLERS COUNTRY MUSIC JAMBOREE - June 16, 17, 18, 2011

The High Desert Fiddlers' Annual Country Music Jamboree is held at the Harney County Fairgrounds in Burns, Oregon.  Burns is located at the on Hwy 20, 130 miles east of Bend and 130 miles west of Ontario, Oregon.  Hwy 395 approaches from the south (from Lakeview and California) and from the north (from Pendleton and John Day).  Hwy 205 and 78 approach from the south (from Denio and Winnemucca, NV).

This family-based event is a three day jam of fiddlers, banjo players, guitar players, autoharp players, harmonica players, singers and others, too (including concertinas, accordions, spoons and hammer dulcimer).  Everybody plays!

The event is free, although we do pass the hat to cover expenses.  RV Parking and camping is available at the fairgrounds, as well as numerous good motels in town (click on the Harney County Info link).  Along with meals being available on site, restaurants and local merchants also invite musicians  to jam and entertain - so stop on downtown and have a bite, shop, and listen to some music!  Various workshops are conducted by musicians as well.  

This event is a warm up for fiddlers who are heading to Weiser, ID for the National Fiddle Contest, so you're bound to hear some darn good fiddlin' as well as other great musicians!
